YOSC was formed in September 1991 and with two neighbours I joined in early 1992, not quite a Founder member.  At that time I owned our Westerley Chieftain yacht “Hector” and during the next 6 years sailed all of Normandy and north Brittany giving me much needed experience.   I was working Shifts most weekends and was looking for a Partnership to assist with the running costs and benefit those sailing Hector with actual experience as Skippers.   Help came quickly from within our club and after a few years, 3 of us planned to upgrade to a Bigger Boat.  It wasn’t long when Adat came along (1998).

In September 2001 YOSC held it’s 10th Anniversary Dinner at the prestigious premises of the Royal Naval and Royal Albert Yacht Club in Portsmouth where we had a record turnout of Members to celebrate the first ten years of the Club.  A black tie event that ran well into the early hours with plenty of wine to boot.

The following photos are just a selection of the many taken.
